What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is an established, recognised system of diagnosis and treatment with its main emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. Osteopathy uses many of the diagnostic procedures used in conventional medical assessment and diagnosis. The strength of Osteopathy lies in the unique way you are assessed. Osteopathy looks at you from a mechanical, functional and postural standpoint then applies the optimum treatment to rebalance the body.
What do Osteopaths Treat?
- Lower back pain (with or without sciatica)
- Neck pain
- Sports injuries
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Tendon and ligament injuries• Muscle pulls and strains
- Headaches and migraines
- Joint problems
- Postural disorders
Osteopathy is available at our King’s cross studio
Your Osteopath will carry out a case history with an examination using a highly developed sense of touch called palpation, to identify any points of weakness or strain throughout the body. Osteopaths use touch, manipulation and occasionally acupuncture / dry needling to diagnose and treat problems. They all have a background in sports massage and may also incorporate these skills into their treatments. You will then be given a suitable treatment plan which will include rehabilitation exercises and advice.
