PILATES CLASSES

How does Pilates fit into my life?

If you’re not moving a lot at the moment – no problem. This is a great place to start moving your body again. If you do currently enjoy other forms of movement, many of our clients tell us that they fit Pilates into their life alongside things like walking, swimming,cycling, running and/or weight training. Pilates helps to align your body and augments all other physical activity, by training your body for optimal movement. It’s the foundation you need for a great feeling you.

How often do I need to come?

As with everything about Moss Pilates, how often you come is entirely up to you. We work on a pay-as-you-go basis, meaning that you’ll never be tied down to a contract or otherwise obligated to come. However, it goes without saying that the more frequently you visit, the sooner you’ll be on the way to becoming a better you. Even though it’s different for everyone, it’s often the case that coming 2 to 3 times a week will give you the results you’re aiming for surprisingly quickly. We’d be happy to discuss what’s going to be best for you over the phone or in person.

I’m already fit. What can Moss Pilates add to my existing fitness routine?

A great deal. More and more professional footballers, rugby players and cricketers are turning to Pilates to help them increase flexibility and core strength, enhance body conditioning, improve performance, reduce the risk of injury and add extra variety to their training. Whatever shape your body is in, we can help you feel, look and move better than ever before.

Do I need to be very fit for the Moss Pilates classes?

All of our group classes require a certain level of fitness, but with the different levels available there really is something for everyone. The one thing we do have to say is that you shouldn’t take part in a group class if you have a significant injury. If you’ve any doubts at all about an injury (old or new), disability or other medical condition then contact us to discuss how we can help you use Pilates in the most appropriate way.

Is personal training available?

Yes, personal training is available. Moss Pilates trainers are all Polestar qualified, with years of experience behind them. You can purchase our promotional introductory £99 for two private sessions package here. Or contact us here to find out everything you need to know.
What do I need to know for my first class? First and foremost you should know that you’re going to absolutely love it. However, you should also make sure you arrive a few minutes early. This is essential for your own safety so if you don’t leave enough time before the class starts, you may not be able to train.

What should I wear?

Wear something that’s comfortable and will allow you to move freely. Most people choose stretch pants or shorts with a t-shirt or sports top. You won’t need shoes – you’ll train either in socks or bare feet, whichever you prefer. We have male and female changing facilities, and water fountains can be found on every floor. You may also purchase chilled bottles of mineral water from Reception.

What kinds of Pilates training do your facilities provide?

REFORMER PILATES

Do I need to be very fit for the Reformer Pilates classes?

How do I book and which class pass should I purchase?

Simply book our Pilates Reformer Starter Package, which gets you 3 Pilates classes as well as a private session with an instructor to customise your Pilates classes for your own specific body issues / aches and pains and fitness goals

I have an injury, or recovering from one — can I still do a Moss Reformer Pilates class?

If you have suffered a significant injury, either recently or in the past – you’ll need to speak to us before attending a class. Depending on the severity of the injury and the extent of your recovery we may suggest you start with a few 1:1 sessions, else join our Studio Club. Whatever your background you can rest assured we’ll be doing our very best to make you feel, look and move better.

What do I need to know for my first class?

There will never be more than ten people in any of the group reformer classes we offer.

HOLISTIC REHABILITATION

Why would I do rehabilitation training?

Whether you suffer from chronic back pain or other injury, have just had a child or you want to get back into exercise but just don’t know where to start, our Polestar-qualified trainers will help you every step of the way. Feel free to pop into the studio or give us a call with any rehabilitation questions you may have.

I'm pregnant. Is this form of Pilates suitable?

Moss Pilates can become a fantastic part of both your pre- and post-natal routine.
If you’re already using Moss Pilates and become pregnant then continued participation in the class may require a medical consent letter signed by your general practitioner. Please discuss this with your instructor. If you are pregnant and have not participated in a Moss Pilates class before, group reformer classes are not suitable for you. We recommend instead that you attend either private one-to-one sessions, or studio club classes.

I have an injury -- or am recovering from one -- can I still do a Moss Pilates class?

If you have suffered a significant injury, either recently or in the past – you’ll need to speak to us before attending a class. Depending on the severity of the injury and the extent of your recovery from it, you may need a medical clearance form from your doctor. Whatever your background you can rest assured we’ll be doing our very best to make you feel, look and move better.
